IТm pleasantly surprised that you have opened the clear discussion
on pages of your newspaper about the forthcoming role of the
businessmen in politics of the Republic of Belarus. First of all, I
would like to thank the authors of the article л Mister Levonevsky is
driving at abruptlyЕ╗ singed by Ekaterina Naumovich and published
in the newspaper лNational Will╗ ╣96 (1161) from 30.05.2001 and
also editorial staff of the newspaper for quoting of the bulletin
"Businessman". Due to this my opinion on Semen Domash, one
of the potential candidates in the presidents has been explained to a
wide circle of the readers and the number of people who want to visit
my birthday 15.08.2001 have increased.
In the beginning there is only a symbolical answer to the authors of
the mentioned article signed by Ekaterina Naumovich.
It is clear with the naked eye that the article is written not only by
Katya. It is too difficult for the usual businessman trading at the
market - figures, cities, witnesses, set any surnames, "analysis"
in the republican scale, political estimation, doubtful information
and conclusions. If we add to this that:
-Katya approximately a year ago had serious problems including with
trade places and
law-enforcement bodies, a bit later these problems were solved,
moreover Katya was
allowed by the administration of the market to do everything she wants.
-The false bulletin "Businessman" with the false information
about transfer of the
political strike was distributed at the direct participation of her
people (after detention
of one of the distributors of the false bulletin "Businessman"
it was Ekaterina
Naumovich who asked the employees of militia to release the breaker).
It is not difficult to guess why this article is signed by Ekaterina
Naumovich. She, after her possible "recruitment", is
constantly trying to break our actions and is always against
everything we do. According to the information we have Katya was even
allowed to place merry-go-rounds and it is the gratitude for her
black-legТs.
To persuade a reader that the facts stated in the article лMister
╦хтюэхтёъшщ is driving at abruptly Е╗ are not real to
tell the truth, IТll explain only two characteristic examples which
can be checked by a reader.
First Ц according to the facts of the Ministry of business more than
150.000 businessmen, instead of 75.000 as the authors of the article
approve are registered in our country.
Second - the authors write л Е where from does the not working
father of four children take so much moneyЕ╗ and this is also not
true as Levonevsky has been a businessman for 8 years, he is
registered in ISTC of Leninsky district Grodno and he has headed for
the public organisation лGrodno municipal centre of protection of the
rights of the consumer╗, registered in the management of justice of
Grodno regional executive committee for more than three last years.
Only for 1994-1995 years according to the statement of the Tax
inspection the pure income of Levonevsky has made 20.000 dollars of
the USA.
Earning her "bread" and trying to withdraw the businessmen
from politics Ekaterina writes: лSo, the strike with the slogan
УPresident, go awayФ failed. And there was no another way for it,
taking into account the political character of the action╗. The
authorities are greatly afraid that the businessmen will begin to be
engaged in politics. The task was put: to break the political strike
using any means, including lie and forgery. Katya has made everything
not to spend the political strike at "Dynamo".
She writes about the businessmen: УIt is interesting who and what
for should present people who know only the most primitive facts about
politics as the ardent revolutionaries?Ф.
On this point the opinion of Katya coincides with the opinion of the
authorities and the authority thinks that the businessmen are "AnimalsФ
who understand nothing in the politics and should not interfere to the
politics. But is it real? Let's try to understand.
The businessmen and politics. Should the businessmen participate in
politics?
It is the basic question on which I would like to express the point of
view. Who are today take part in the politics: the teacher, military,
gynaecologists, agriculturists etc. Everybody except for the
businessmen. The trouble of Belarus is that gynaecologists instead of
the businessmen take part in the politics, isnТt it?. Fortunately
the tendency begins to vary for the benefit of the businessmen.
For many engaged in business - businessman is the second profession.
More than 50 % of the businessmen have the higher education, so why
donТt they have the right to reflect the future of the country? Many
people wrongly consider that when the businessmen strike or spend
other actions of the protest, they support Levonevsky. The businessmen
has stood against the politics of the state concerning them and their
families for 5 years. My task is to organise this process. To make it
an amicable action with the minimal losses for the businessmen.
Why has the process of opposition of the businessmen and authorities
taken place for more than 4 years?
The matter is not the ambitions of Levonevsky.
There is opposition of two systems, two ways of life.
There are the Bolsheviks - and Bolsheviks both at the authority and in
the opposition (radical).
There are we Ц the new born middle class.
Let's try to understand. There is a little bit of history for an
evident example.
1917. Opposition between the proprietors (middle class) and supporters
лof the light future╗ (Bolsheviks, Mensheviks, Trotskists,
Bukharintsy etc.). Executions. The supporters лof the light future╗
shoot our great-grandfathers taking into account their attitude to the
property, share the things theyТve got among themselves. They have
shot. They have shared. Then they shoot the colleagues. And this
process is endless. The clan of one party boss comes to the office Ц
fights with the clan of another. All this happened and will happen in
our country both at the local level and at the level of the state. Why?
The answer lays in the ideology of Communism and all its branches. The
idea of alienated public property contradicts to the essence of man. A
man dreams to have something - house, family, land, car, instrument of
work, somebody - a factory.
At the present system of authority it is impossible to possess
theoretically lands, factories, structures. Practically everything has
been divided for a long time. All official bodies, CJSC, OJSC and
other signboards having the real estate, depths, land, instrument and
means of manufacture are controlled by a concrete man (group of the
people) who disposes of them as if they are his property and has
accordingly incomes (direct or indirect). The attitude to this
property is the worst Ц everything is taken away, plundered etc., as
everyone understands that they temporarily control this property. If
the authority changes they can remain not destiny.
Change of the authority (clan) in such a country it always blood. As
the property is always being divided between the clans. Old "proprietors"
are arrested, shot or made leave abroad. This process is eternal at
BolsheviksТ. There is always a temptation at one party boss to eat
the another. It will allow him to own the property which is called
"state" in ourv country (variant: with participation of the
state).
Such processes are basically impossible in West as the majority of the
property is concentrated in private hands, under concrete surnames and
is transferred from generation to generation. The division of such
property at change of policy and tops of the executive authority is
impossible. The use of the state ownership is rigidly supervised by
the structures which are independent from the executive authority.
Let's return to Belarus of 2001. The authority Ц A. G. Lukashenko
and the team (supporters of the StalinТs model of development) +
radical opposition (former party and comsomol workers of S. Domash, A.
Lebedko - trotskists, bukharintsy, mensheviky etc.) = the supporters
лof the light future╗.
They are in eternal opposition among themselves. They always will
"struggle" for state ("nobodyТs") property, for
the right to dispose of it. It is their struggle. Where is our place?
We for them are "cannon fodder" and лsmall change╗.
We, middle class, class of the proprietors, are satisfied neither with
those nor with others. In 1917 the orders to shoot "Capitalists"
were given by Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky and others.
The fact that they became opposition to each other then will not
resurrect shot people and does not change anything. We differ from
them. They are able and want only to select and to share. They have
been engaged in it all their life. They were taught to this in the
party schools. We want not only to create the property, to build, to
make, but also to dispose the results of the work. We want the
property to have an owner and to be protected by the state. Moreover,
we do not want to occupy those buildings and structures, factories
which had been constructed before we came. We do not want to
participate in this sharing. We are ready to build and to invest in
many projects.
Only the guarantees are necessary to us. The guarantees that tomorrow
the things created by us will not be select on behalf of the name of
revolution. Guarantees of Bolsheviks are an empty sound. Bolsheviks
who are in the office and those who are in opposition have never kept
promises. All their world is the world of dirty secret games and
intrigues. For us there is no difference who will come to the office -
Bolshevik Domash, Bolshevik A. Lukashenko or another one similar to
him. All of them, as politicians, are alien on the nature to us. The
top of Bolsheviks basically always consist of the political
prostitutes. Such is their work. Others are not allowed to appear
there. Today having spent there tens years they declare that they are
virgin - democrats. Now all of them support the businessmen, want to
head the movement of the businessmen as they have understood that the
businessmen of Belarus are today a real political force.
I did not see present radicals from opposition among us in 1996-2000
when we spent the actions of the protest, they were too busy.
Those who criticises me that I stand against S. Domash (being
recruited by the special services he, they say, is the only candidate

Read articles which were written about Domash in 1999-2000. Then he
did not say that he will be the only candidate from opposition. Then
he caught it from me even more than now. Who he is I have already
understood even at that time. I write about him only a small part that
I know. If I then stood against policy of Domash, why I should now
keep silent. Because they have not divided anything with Lukashenko?!!!
Up to 1996 he spread the communist ideology, built the light future.
In 1998-2000 together with ideologists from BPF swore at "moskalies"
and "imperialists" everywhere. In 2001 he declares that he
is faster than A. Lukashenko will unite Russia and Belarus. Is it
possible to trust him?
Why I devote a lot of time to S. Domash. Because I know him, I have
studied his behaviour, he is a typical representative of the communist
nomenclature. Therefore all described connecting S. Domash may be
applied to all carriers of ideology лof the light future╗ (with
small rejections) who occupied in due time responsible posts in the
communist hierarchy.
Anywhere in the world the class of the proprietors has not been
created for one year or two. Tens years are necessary. My task, as a
politician and a citizen to speed up these processes.
Today the businessmen are the only active social layer of the
population who some times per one year spend strikes. We are the only
who has achieved the cancellation of the number of the acts and
dismissal of the ministers by spending strikes. We change economic
requirements to political ones. The politics is life of our children,
families, questions of the property, taxes, education, wages, pension,
grant, rent, development of business etc. It is difficult to find a
question which would not depend on the policy spent in the state.
Why should we be outside the politics?
I hope that the discussion devoted to the theme лBusinessmen and
politics╗ will be continued and after the publication of this article.
